Citylink Connects Seattle Residents to City Departments

Residents can also sign up for RSS feeds and get information sent directly to their phones or mobile devices.

According to Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, Citylink is a better way for residents to keep up with what's happening in their city. "Citylink Seattle takes our city beyond traditional news releases and printed newsletters to delivering faster, more immediate information that keeps you in touch with your city in one convenient place," he said in a statement. Eleven city departments -- including the Police Department, Animal Shelter, Parks and Recreation, Fire Department, Arts and Cultural Affairs and six others -- are contributing to the initial launch. Residents can also sign up for RSS feeds and get information sent directly to their phones or mobile devices. Several departments -- including Police, Fire and Transportation -- provide Twitter feeds.
