David I. Moskovitz Receives Sustained Leadership Award

September 12, 2007 By

The Center for Digital Government today announced the presentation of its first annual Sustained Leadership Award to David I. Moskovitz.

Moskovitz has more than 23 years of experience leading large-scale public-sector technology and transformation projects. He worked for 12 years for the city of New York, including serving as a deputy commissioner of a 2,000-person division responsible for managing the city government's infrastructure. He was also part of the executive team that successfully implemented New York City's 311 Citizen's Service Center which transformed the manner in which New York City citizens and visitors access government services.

Moskovitz serves as the chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Center for Employment Opportunities, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing employment services to men and women returning home from prison and detention facilities in New York City. Moskovitz currently serves as the managing director of Accenture's U.S. state and local government practice.

Each year the Center for Digital Government will present the award to an individual who not only has shown exceptionally innovative and persistent leadership as a technology industry executive in their service to public-sector organizations, but who also sets a high standard for others in their service to their community. The award was presented to Moskovitz last Sunday night in a special awards ceremony held in Hilton Head, S.C.

"David has contributed tremendously and uniquely to the public sector's technological progress," said Cathilea Robinett, executive director for the Center for Digital Government. He has continuously led the way with his innovation and enthusiasm. We are very pleased to have the honor of acknowledging him with this well-deserved award."
