Hennepin County, Minn., has selected Lagan Human Services to support the county's e-government initiative for its Human Services and Public Health Department (HSPHD). The offering will support the county's Direct Connect and Specialized Housing initiatives to provide easier and more consistent access to information and services for constituents.
The goal of the Direct Connect project is to allow the more than one million residents of the county to obtain what they need, be it basic information or multiple services, through any point of contact -- via the web, telephone, face-to-face, fax and email. The goals of the Specialized Housing project are to locate appropriate housing vacancies for HSPHD clients as well as to analyze client data and service provider performance. Lagan Human Services will support the multichannel service delivery requirements and provide eligibility and case management for the county's government transformation initiatives.
"We created a Human Services and Public Health Department that merged multiple departments into one, so we have an opportunity to provide constituents with easier and more consistent access to a breadth of services," said Don Holmberg, CIO of Hennepin County HSPHD. "We selected this company because of its ability to facilitate improved communication between workers, easily share information and resources, integrate with existing information systems and assess a client's needs from a holistic viewpoint. Since Lagan Human Services is designed specifically for government, it has the flexibility and scalability required to help us create a seamless service delivery system for county residents while providing a low total cost of ownership."
As a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution, Lagan Human Services includes preconfigured components and pre-built best practice-based content; it is quickly mastered by case workers and administrators alike. Its innovative case management approach offers features including:
"We are impressed with Hennepin County's commitment to e-government as an initiative that can help enhance service delivery in an era of ever-tightening budgets and rising constituent expectations for quality service," said Claudia Langguth, president of Lagan North America. "With Lagan Human Services, Hennepin County HSPHD is taking a proactive and modern approach to service delivery that will evolve with the needs of constituents and the Department."

This paper shows how VDI is the future of the desktop and is a game-changer for local governments.
Don't miss this opportunity to see the latest in digital government solutions, keep abreast of current policy issues and network with key government executives, technologists and industry specialists.
