Reports: FBI Raids Washington, D.C., Office of the Chief Technology Officer

The Washington Post and other sources are reporting that FBI raided some floors of the district's Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) on Thursday, and arrested Yusuf Acar, an information systems security officer for OCTO, as part of an ongoing bribery investigation.

Last week, President Barack Obama appointed Vivek Kundra, the district's chief technology officer, as the country's first-ever federal CIO. A spokesperson for Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty said Kundra isn't a target of the investigation.

Government Technology named Kundra one of 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers of 2009. Since he was named CTO in 2007, he has become recognized as an innovative leader who relishes the opportunity to "democratize" data.

The Post reported that many workers at OCTO were sent home for the day.

Politico is reporting that another person was arrested: Sushil Bansal, CEO of Advanced Integrated Technologies Corp. Both men are being held on bribery charges.
