Safend, a leading provider of enterprise endpoint Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) solutions, announced today the latest release of Safend Protector. Safend Protector, v3.3, stops data leakage via removable storage devices and Wi-Fi interfaces throughout the enterprise, providing organizations granular control over endpoint data leakage, advanced and intuitive management features and extensive reporting. Safend Protector v3.3 provides heightened protection against evolving threats and accidental data leakage via lost or stolen devices for organizations seeking the most comprehensive data leakage prevention solution available. Large enterprises also benefit from the addition of load balancing, management by domain and increased options for organizations to manage the entire deployment through a single Safend Server.
"Intellectual property and proprietary information continue to be vulnerable targets within organizations today," said Terrence Brewton, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "The more protection around endpoints a company can provide, the more secure an enterprise's sensitive information is from loss due to unscrupulous employees and targeted attacks. The new features and enhancements in Safend Protector allow organizations to have a firm grasp of who is accessing what and when - with all the documentation needed for compliance regulations."
Major additions and enhancements to Safend Protector v3.3 include:
File Shadowing - Provides the ability to track and collect copies of files moved to/from external storage devices, giving administrators the visibility to immediately identify security breaches.
External Storage Encryption Enhancements - Allows administrators to mandate the encryption of data transferred to external hard drives and removable storage as well as CD/DVD media, delivering the most comprehensive external storage encryption solution in the market.
Server Clustering - Provides redundancy and high availability with the ability to install several Safend Management Servers. Offers seamless load balancing of traffic between the endpoints and serves as a hot backup to each other. Supports large scale deployments in the hundreds of thousands of clients.
Domain Partitioning - Extends the Safend Protector Role-Based Access mechanism to include a definition of the Domain Partition a Safend Protector administrator can manage. Accommodates large organizations with several security departments that are responsible for different areas of the organization.
Windows XP 64-bit - Supports Windows XP 64-bit operating system endpoints. This includes features of previous versions as well as the new features of version 3.3.
"As threats to data security continue to evolve, Safend stays ahead of these risks with proactive advancements in our feature rich solution to ensure we are providing the most granular and comprehensive endpoint DLP offering on the market," said Gil Sever, CEO of Safend. "Our customers and partners have high expectations when it comes to protecting their critical data and Safend Protector v3.3 not only provides the advanced data protection they need, but also more extensive risk assessment capabilities and deeper insight into vulnerabilities throughout the enterprise."

Until recently, there was no alternative to the familiar desktop computer, and its expensive upgrades and maintenance requirements. For cash-strapped local governments, the desktop computer is quickly becoming an unsustainable option for future progress. Now, a technology known as virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) offers an alternative. It can be significantly more affordable than buying individual computers for every employee, and it provides similar capability. This paper shows how VDI is the future of the desktop and is a game-changer for local governments.
Don't miss this opportunity to see the latest in digital government solutions, keep abreast of current policy issues and network with key government executives, technologists and industry specialists.
