San Diego Upgrades Towing System

"Will shorten tow response times and reduce the administrative burden on our Police Department."

Earlier this month, the city of San Diego signed a two-year contract with AutoReturn, for towing management and logistics. The company will use GPS-enabled technologies to improve tow response times and track towed vehicles, allowing owners to locate towed vehicles faster through Web search or automated phone system integrated with the city's 311 system. "AutoReturn presented us with a solution that will improve our towing operation" said David Ramirez, executive assistant chief of the San Diego Police Department in a release. "AutoReturn will shorten tow response times and reduce the administrative burden on our Police Department, allowing us to focus on core services while increasing our oversight and control of this important city service." AutoReturn is currently operating under municipal contracts in San Francisco and Baltimore County.
