Water and Energy Sustainability Top Items in Local Government Survey
Examined the level of sustainability adoption among California cities.
A survey of 78 California cities examined the level of sustainability adoption among California cities. The survey -- Sustainability Programs, Strategies and Tools Used by California Local Governments -- was conducted by Public Technology Institute (PTI) and the California Sustainability Alliance. The survey found strong support for sustainability programs, with water and energy efficiency at the top of the list. The analysis goes on to identify trends and leading practices in energy efficiency, water efficiency, renewable energy, greenhouse gas reduction, waste reduction and recycling, smart growth and planning, and smart transportation.
