Westchester County, N.Y., Launches Enterprise Web Site

"The new site is ... intended to provide a unified executive branch enterprise view and is organized in categories that are more meaningful to the public than our organization chart."

Westchester County, N.Y., announced some significant Web-site upgrades, which include video as a response to higher bandwidth now found in residences in the area.

"The most significant element, however," said Scott Fernqvist, special assistant to the CIO, "is the shift in information architecture. The site used to be essentially a portal to subsidiary Web sites of the various departments and offices of the county government. While still a work in progress, the new site is instead intended to provide a unified executive branch enterprise view and is organized in categories that are more meaningful to the public than our organization chart."
